The most effective method for removing toxins from the body depends on the type of condition you're dealing with and its severity.

For healthy individuals, simple lifestyle adjustments can help maintain detoxification. Drinking plenty of water, exercising to encourage sweating, and eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds while minimizing meat intake can support regular bowel movements and help the body eliminate toxins naturally. Specific foods like broccoli and bitter gourd activate detoxifying proteins, aiding the body's natural cleansing processes.

For acute conditions, such as food poisoning, more immediate actions are required. Taking a teaspoon of activated charcoal can help bind toxins, and inducing vomiting can also assist in removing harmful substances. However, in such cases, eating detox-supportive foods like broccoli won’t be effective.

For chronic conditions, such as fibromyalgia, psoriasis, or long-standing acne, detoxification requires a more targeted approach, often involving supplementation. Chronic conditions are often linked to impaired liver function, as the liver plays a central role in processing and eliminating toxins. To improve liver function, supplementation with key nutrients like glutathione, alpha-lipoic acid, N-acetyl cysteine (NAC), magnesium, and B-vitamins is essential. Chronic toxin buildup often depletes glutathione levels, so glutathione supplements, particularly those containing alpha-lipoic acid and milk thistle, can be beneficial. Additionally, beetroot, artichoke to help boost bile production. Schisandra (a traditional Chinese herb) is a specific herb for liver regeneration and increases glutathione levels.

Personally, I didn’t believe in supplements at first and focused on a diet rich in raw fruits and vegetables, juicing daily with ingredients like carrots and apples. I exercise everyday. Drink a lot adequate amount of water and am mindful of my sleep. However, I noticed that my healing, particularly for persistent acne scars near my eye, was slow. After reading about detoxification in a Functional Medicine book, which emphasized specific nutrients for effective detox, I began using glutathione supplements with milk thistle and alpha-lipoic acid. Since then, I’ve seen faster improvements in my healing. According to Chinese medicine face mapping, issues near the eye often point to liver or pancreas dysfunction—particularly, the right side relates to the liver, and the left side to the pancreas.
